📑 Instrument Black List

The Instrument Black List screen in the Koala.Markets platform allows administrators and compliance officers to manage a list of financial instruments that are restricted from trading due to regulatory, risk-based, or internal policy decisions.


🎯 Purpose

This module enables:

  • Blocking of specific instruments from being traded or processed.
  • Control over tradable instruments on a provider level (e.g., ICF, Allfunds).
  • Full auditability of restricted instruments for compliance and operational transparency.

➕ Create New

To add a new instrument to the blacklist, click + Create New.
You must provide the following required fields:

  • ISIN Code – The unique identifier of the financial instrument.
  • Trade Provider – Select from available trade providers (e.g., ICF, Allfunds).

A Global Search input field is provided above the table.
It allows users to perform keyword-based filtering across all displayed fields.


📄 Table Columns

The table lists all blacklisted instruments with the following columns:

Short CodeInternal shorthand for the instrument.
Instrument NameFull official name of the instrument.
Instrument TypeCategory of instrument (e.g., Stocks, ETF, ETC).
ProviderThe associated trade provider (e.g., ICF).
Insert DateTimestamp indicating when the record was added.
Insert UserID of the user who created the blacklist entry.
DeleteTrash icon used to remove an instrument from the blacklist.

  • Blacklist is provider-specific: You can manage restrictions independently for each trade provider.
  • Fully Auditable: Insert user and date are stored with every record.
  • Simple Management: Only ISIN and Provider are needed to create a blacklist entry.
  • Quick Search: Global Search allows for easy filtering across multiple fields.
  • Safe Delete: Deletion requires confirmation to avoid accidental removal.

🔐 Use Cases

  • Compliance Enforcement: Blacklist instruments flagged by regulators or internal policies.
  • Market Risk Management: Restrict volatile or suspicious instruments.
  • Provider-Specific Restrictions: Tailor instrument control according to the capabilities or rules of each trade provider.

⚠️ Instruments added to the blacklist are excluded from all trading operations and will not be available for execution or order routing.
